About me

Warm, friendly, and here to walk alongside you

I am a warm, friendly and caring person committed to supporting people through difficult times. My aim is to help clients gain insight into their experiences and emotions, so they are able to develop awareness, understanding and a path forward.

Over my 25 years in the publishing industry, I’ve been fortunate to gather so many valuable experiences, working alongside all kinds of people, finding my way through challenges, and learning just how much communication truly matters. These lessons have quietly shaped me, and I feel they’ve given me a meaningful foundation for my role in counselling. I hope to carry the same care and understanding into my work now, offering a space that feels collaborative, balanced, and supportive for the people I work with.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, but my practice also integrates elements from a range of therapeutic areas, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Psychodynamic Theory, Attachment Theory, and creative therapies.

I love walking in nature, especially by the coast or in the woods. I also meditate and practice yoga, and I’m interested in the mind-body connection, which draws me to use mindfulness techniques in my counselling practice.

I look forward to meeting you – Karen, KMJ Counselling
